Goodwill...

For the uninitiated Goodwill happens to be this non profit volunteer organization which thrives on donations of all sorts ranging from books , table lamps , furniture sets , clothes and even jewelery sometimes! Moving into a nothing apartment with nothing except the carpet was kinda expected with the extremely low rental I was paying in this really expensive place. But now all that's changed with a few visits to the Goodwill store , anyone who pays a visit to the apartment is like " wow , nice furniture!" but what comes next leaves them gasping! Here are my terrific purchases

Goodwill is good...I mean really really good!

The first week..

Phew!! It's been one hectic week I must say, since the day I came all I've been doing is running around places trying to figure out how am gonna live here for the next two years. Now having found a place to live , moving furniture , grocery shopping and a few visits to Keck , I must say am pretty exhausted ( the oppressive california heat does not help!) and definitely relieved. The apartment complex happens to be called INDIAN HILLS and I guess with the invasion of Indian students and few other indian families , the name seems quite appropriate. Sixteen Indian students , all going to Keck are all living here and will be my future classmates!..OH YES! 16 of us! But for now am just happy getting to know all of them and trying to gel in and I think am doing a good job. Well already being in the US is a big ice breaker , I'm always narrating my previous experiences and trying to help them out with lil pieces of info whether it be cultural nuisances, grocery shopping , food habits , TRAFFIC RULES and ofcourse Keck. Now that am well settled and have this little bike to ride around , am planning to explore Claremont starting tommorow. Let's see how that works out..
